Getting the power connected

If you have recently moved home and need to get the power connected, you'll first need to contact an Energy Retailer and connect with them as a customer. They will then contact Electricity Ashburton on your behalf to get the power connected to your home or business.

If you previously had an account with an Energy Retailer you can arrange for this to be transferred to your new home, all you need to do is give your Electricity Retailer your new ICP Number (found on your new meter box).

 

To request a new connection

 

You will need to complete a New Connecton Form and send this to us. Note that you may need to contact your electrician to assist with completing this form as they will have details of your requirements. Once Electricity Ashburton receives your completed connection request we will contact you to confirm the details and schedule the new connection.

 

To change Electricity Retailer

 

Step 1: Obtain your ICP Number from your meter box or previous power bill.

Step 2: Phone your choice of energy retailer and ask to connect.
