Our Fibre NetworkElectricity Ashburton has been developing a Next Generation fibre optic broadband network since late 2008. This network was primarily designed to connect many of our electricity network zone sub-stations. This provides Electricity Ashburton with a significantly enhanced communications network allowing more devices to be connected for remote management and control of the electricity network. Ultimately this will enable the company to deliver even greater reliability across our electricity network.
By increasing the capacity of the fibre network (beyond our own needs), Electricity Ashburton is also able to provide point to point fibre optic access to businesses and residents who are on the network route.
